“I will work harder and come back again for the award,” exclaimed a delighted Awais. The recognition not only motivated him to improve his studies further but also to help out in house chores. The mother has encouraged her children to partake in recycling, hoping that they will learn to protect the Earth and cherish the award which is hard to come by.

In conjunction with the Deepavali festival, volunteers of Tzu Chi Melaka started distributing goody bags to students in a few Tamil primary schools. One of the parents, Santhy a/p Doraisamy expressed joyfully: “I am so delighted to receive the goody bag! There are various ingredients for baking and cooking.”

Sandakan volunteer, Chin Chai Mee, felt extremely excited whenever she revisited the 700 odd children in Paitan as they are very dear to her.

“Thank you Tzu Chi. Thanks for the help, I can now study peacefully and further improve on my studies. I will treasure the opportunity of schooling, obey the teachers, attend all classes and work hard,” said Mohamad Rizzuan, a Tzu Chi Study Grant beneficiary, from the bottom of his heart.

Though the new semester was just around the corner, some poor little kids from poverty-stricken families were still dressed in tattered uniforms to school. Feelings of poignancy spurred a group of sympathetic and kind-hearted people to present the students with gifts of new uniforms and shoes for the new semester.

On November 29, 2015, Tzu Chi Education Sponsorship Scheme’s humanities course was held for the second time at KL Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall. The course included a series of programme to nurture filial piety in the children, in the hope of inspiring gratitude in them. The cohesive effort of Tzu Chi Education and Charity Teams, while leveraging the power of community, had made this event a success.

On November 22, Tzu Chi Klang organized four rounds of Tzu Chi Study Grant Presentation Ceremony at Chung Hua Independent High School, Klang; SJK(C) Yoke Kuan, Sekinchan; and SJK(C) Dengkil, respectively. At Chung Hua Independent High School, the morning and afternoon sessions drew a total of 765 grantees from 65 schools from around Klang area.

November 22, 2015 was a special day for some students in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. That morning, 932 students (Chinese, Malay and Indian) from 86 schools, in their neatly attired school uniforms and accompanied by their parents, congregated at KL Tzu-Chi Jing Si Hall to attend the 2015 Tzu Chi Study Grant presentation ceremony.

Since the roll out of the Tzu Chi Study & Award Scheme four years ago, volunteers and teachers have strived to unleash students’ potential; to motivate them to work harder to improve their studies and conduct.
