Send Love to Tainan Earthquake Victims

Sincerely pray for the victims and family members and wish them well

At 3.57 am on February 6, 2016, an earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale rocked Taiwan, in Meinong District of Kaohsiung. The earthquake, with a depth of around 16.7 km, caused widespread damage and the collapse of a residential building, named Weiguan Jinlong in Yongkang District, Tainan. In total, 116 people were killed and more than 500 injured.

Tzu Chi’s disaster command centre was set up immediately by Hualien and Tainan Chapters and various relief items including eco-blankets, multi-purpose folding beds, shawls were distributed to the affected areas. To date, Tzu-Chi has mobilized a turnout of 14,531 volunteers and delivered over NT$ 40 million (about MYR 5 million) to the survivors and affected families.
Master Cheng Yen has expressed her deep concern. In this difficult time, we need everyone’s help and prayers; sincerely pray for the victims and family members and wish them well. Let us also pray for a world free from disasters.
