Tzu Chi University and University of Malaya (MU) have jointly organized an "Anti-drug Education and Awareness" campaign in schools and communities. On June 29, 2013, a training camp was held to teach Tzu Chi volunteers to be trainers in this campaign.

Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth held a charity car wash activity on June 23, 2013 to raise funds for their "Sutra of Filial Piety" performance. Besides raising funds, the other objective of the activity was to enable the youngsters to understand that 'money does not come easily'.

A total of 225 Collegiate Youth (Tzu Ching) members, divided into 5 groups, gathered at Taipan Activity Centre for their first rehearsal of the "Sutra of Filial Piety" musical sign language performance scheduled for June 15 & 16, 2013.

Four educational volunteers - Li Mei Jin, Su Yue Ju, You Zi Ping and Xu Bi Zhi - were in Malaysia recently. On June 15, 2013, they shared the "Jing-Si Aphorism Teaching Method" with Principals and teachers of On Pong, Chung Hwa, San Yuk Rawang and Chin Woo Chinese Primary Schools.

Preparatory work for the "Sutra of Filial Piety" musical sign language performance has started since its initiation; and in June, performers commenced with their intensive rehearsals. On June 1, Petaling Jaya Ci Yi Association's volunteers, Ci Qing (Collegiate Youth) members gathered at Ci Yi Mother, Tong Siew Bee's house to make 1,000-plus vegetarian dumplings for sale to fund the upcoming performance.

On May 17, 2013, a group of 60 Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth members went to the Studhuys (Red House) and Jonker Street to promote environmental protection, with the hope of awakening the public's awareness on this very important issue related to our Earth's future.

On the morning of April 22, Earth Day, teachers of KL Da Ai Educare Centre took their students to Titiwangsa Lake Garden for an outing and to appreciate nature. That afternoon at their Centre, they learnt about vegetarianism and how to conserve and extend the lifespan of resources.

In September 2010, Liu Chun Yan, Principal of Keong Hoe Primary School, implemented "Jing-Si Aphorisms" in her school. She also changed the monotonous school bell ring tone to Jing-Si aphorism ring tone. Master Cheng Yen's wise words have since had a positive influence on the students and teachers.

Tzu Chi KL & Selangor's Collegiate Youth Team will stage a musical sign language performance of the "Sutra of Filial Piety" in October this year. Tzu Chi's Collegiate Youth members, seniors and volunteers visited universities and colleges from March 27-April 3, to invite interested students to attend the briefing on April 3.

Tzu Chi KL & Selangor's Collegiate Youth will be staging "The Sutra of Filial Piety" performance on October 13, 2013. On April 3, a total of 347 students from 19 universities and colleges attended the briefing held at the Twelfth Residential College (Raja Dr Nazrin Shah Residential College) of University of Malaya. It is hoped that more tertiary students will join as assistants or performers.
