HAPPY CHILDREN'S ACHIEVEMENT CLASS

Children are active and energetic, and they are full of curiosity about the things around them. Therefore, there are Happy Children's Achievement Classes in the majority of Tzu Chi offices in Malaysia. Monthly activities include Buddhist etiquette, stories, environmental protection, and visits to welfare organizations etc, for example: a visit to the Disabled Children's Center to share their love and care with less fortunate people. Children have the opportunity to participate in activities such as visits to old folks' homes and recycling outings. These activities are aimed at improving the children's moral values and encouraging their care and concern for others and for the environment.

In 2005, "Parent-Child Bonding Class" was introduced with similar coverage of the above except that one of the child's parents must be involved in the class. The parents are therefore exposed to the same Tzu Chi values and they can then practice the "walk-the-talk" parental philosophy. Certainly, with the involvement of the parents, the learning progress of the child and in the process, the bonding of parent and child would be very much enhanced.
