Du Pei Ling, a care-recipient of Tzu Chi, passed away at 12.07 pm on January 31, 2010, two days after Master Chun Kuan and students of Tzu Chi University visited her.

Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth in MMU and UTeM invited fellow students to attend a blessing session for Haiti's earthquake victims at Tzu Chi Melaka. About 200 students of various races and religions came with a sincere heart to convey their love to Haiti.

Tzu Chi's Great Love mothers and volunteers visited SJK (C) Pay Fong (2) to spread the news about the Haitian Earthquake. A one-minute silence was observed before they sang "Love and Care for All" for the victims. Many students donated their savings to help the Haitians.

January 17, 2010, was Tzu Chi's Environmental Day. Besides collecting recyclables from the public, all of Tzu Chi's 81 recycling points in Kuala Lumpur held prayers and fundraising for Haiti.

In response to Master Cheng Yen's call to deliver relief to earthquake-stricken Haiti, volunteers from Tzu Chi Kuala Lumpur kicked start the "Help Haiti with Love" campaign on January 14, 2010.

An earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale rocked the Republic of Haiti on January 12, 2010. Tzu Chi headquarters, has initiated a global fundraising campaign for the affected people in Haiti.

On January 10, 2010, Tzu Chi volunteers in Kuala Lumpur held their 2009 Year-end Blessing Celebration for 500 care-recipients and their families at Kuen Cheng High School. The 60-table banquet had steamboat as its main course.
